Manage risk within the Company to ensure that all risks are properly identified, characterized, valued and reported on a timely consistent basis throughout the organization. Closely monitor internal controls, report daily positions, mark-to-market P/L, risk measurement and other routine risk reporting requirements. This assures commercial operations and senior management that all energy deals are accurately captured and reported in the risk management system. - Credit
Counter-party and other essential credit analyses allows the company to go forward with structured transactions, origination deals or aggregator services with a high degree of assurance that their customers and clients are financially sound. These analyses include:- Comprehensive credit analysis
- The identification and securing of required credit enhancements
- The analysis and negotiation of credit enhancements for complex transactions
- The integration of activities with Front Office, Legal, Contract Administration, Risk Control and Accounting.
- Analytics
Analytics are part of a broad Finance, Control & Accounting (FC&A) function within Energy companies. Analysts interface with the trade control function, as well as accounting and performance. This role leads or participates in the development and implementation of practices, policies, procedures, metrics, measures and/or tools to deliver superior "fit for purpose" risk management solutions. These solutions include:- MVaR & CoVar modeling
- Fundamental or technical modeling of supply or demand curves
- Position analysis and other price risk management tools and methodologies
- The analysis and reporting, on at least a daily basis, of the level of risk in a transactional portfolio relative to the risk appetite, policies and limits set for the performance unit.
- Other
- Market Analysis for power and gas market modeling
- The tracking of infrastructure developments:
- Strategy analyses and development including the development of tools to enhance the quality and accuracy of the forecasting of demand, supply, gas inventory and prices.
- The development of actionable market information for trading and origination.
- The estimation of the impact of new emissions regulations upon gas and power demand
- The development, implementation, documentation, and refinement of power and gas forecasting.
